Spotlight on Health Equity
In a 2022 documentary on the Smithsonian Channel, the lens is focused on how people of color have been affected by systemically substandard health care. Free tickets for the virtual event are available weekly in July. Startling facts are presented by medical and health policy professionals, and testimony on pandemic-related experiences from several families.
The film traces the origin of racial health disparities to practices that began during slavery and continue today. View Oprah Winfrey’s introduction here.
